Formula One | Austria, Spielberg

OTHER: The return of the A1-Ring on the calendar of Formula One. Only under a different name: Red Bull Ring. Bought by Red Bull, everything that needed to be upgraded, has been done. But there is nothing lost of it charm/style. And that is good. A little while ago I saw a different track lay-out from this track. But that didn't happen. If that is a good thing I can't really say. They changed a corner name however. Niki Lauda had his own corner on the track. But now it has been re-named: First Pirelli Kurve, and at last the turn is now called: Rauch. Then as said last week: Chilton and Perez with a 3 and 5 grid-penalty. Perez was thinking of fighting against it. But the stewards didn't saw it in any other way.

QUALLY: The usual suspects in the back: Sauber, Marussia, Caterham. Q2 didn't had any suprises as well. Button was however this time the McLaren that was dropped out. And Vettel was the only kind-off suprise in Q2, with a P13. Perez was original on P11, but the penalty put him on P16 and later P15. One place more in front again, because the troubles at Lotus for Grosjean. He started from the pitlane. But back to Q3: This saw quiete a nice suprise. Before every driver was warned to keep the track-limits in mind. But Hamilton and Hulkenberg had trouble with this, and pushed to hard. So they went P9 and P10. There was also Raikkonen with trouble, and he ended up in P8. Kvyat did well, on 7th while Vergne didn't came further then 15th. Magnussen on 6, Ricciardo on 5. Alonso with a great effort on P4. Rosberg had a good qually but came to short: P3. Which means one team and two drivers left to qualify: Bottas on 2, Massa on P1. Indeed pole position for Felipe Massa. Williams was on a good pace, but this good that was not really expected...

RACE: After an unexpected qually the race was a bit more 'normal'. Massa lost the lead after the first pit stop. Bottas after the second pit stop for him. And that meant clear way for Rosberg and Hamilton. Hamilton had a problem however with tyres / brakes. So that meant easy racing for him. Besides that. There was the DNF's from most of the Red Bull sponsored cars: Vettel (lost drive), Kvyat (broken rear mounting point from tyre) and Vergne (brakes went: blow). Perez was short in the lead as well. But P6 was in the end the only thing he could reach. Williams could do damage-control: Bottas on 3 and Massa on 4. Alonso on 5. Ricciardo did overtake Hulkenberg in the end. But only just in the last lap...

In two weeks time we have the race in Silverstone.
