Review | Prince of Persia
THE MEETING: As I mentioned (or didn't I ?): The new Prince of Persia is quite a good product from Ubisoft. Before this new story I had some experience with the 'prince' of persia... And till now they weren't that good. The last part I tried was the Sands of Time. And I will explain why that was the last one. It had more or less to do with the capabillity to perform a jump or any other acrobatic move. The wall climbing, but especially the jump between two or more walls was verry hard to manage. This time that is different ! And how...

THE START: In the beginning of the game you will start with the 'prince' in a sand storm were he's lost his donkey Farah. This all will be presented in a short introduction... Suddenly you will drop down towards a ground/place below the surface. Here you will come across the path of Elika. At first a bit ockward but lateron you will come into place. It is quite clear after a short amount of seconds that this 'real' princess is somewhat stobburn to listen to her father, the king of the place. And you come between them, and soon they want to kill you for it. Because of the fact who you are and what you do / did. Besides this there isn't really much to tell about the story or what so-ever. It is pretty straight forward. So...

CORRUPTION: The king, Elika's father is not happy with the fact that his daughter doesn't listen to his command and therfor he brakes the seal from the vault were a bad-ass spirit is kept in. This corruption is quite giving a resistance from time to time during the game. Not every enemy is that easy to beat. And sometimes they will block your path between point A and B. At a certain point you will have to deal with some creature in the City of Light. The swords and magic won't help ! You will really need to push him of that cliff...

POWERS: Besides the sword / claw and Elika's magic you don't have that many things to kill your opponents with. And that's fine ! It isn't Assassins Creed ! It's Prince of Persia and in this game that's enough. Although you have 4 major powers who you will face after that you free'd 2 or more places. These powers are unlockable by giving Elika light seeds. Thoes are needed to free more places and to let Elika live. But they also unlock these powers. With these 4 powers you can scope the world('s) in 4 different ways. I don't discoverd them all yet. But they are explained in the Review (from GameTrailers) I gave you last weekend. The powers I have till now are the powers to bounce from one place to an other and to fly trough certain areas in the world. They bring some diversity into the game and you really need to unlock them to finish the game in a correct way.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST: I won't explain to much about the game, more or less because the GameTrailers Review already explained some stuff. But the last thing I want to do is to argue one major point that GameTrailers find negative about this game. And that is the point were Elika can save you from death. 'Cause they say it's weird and they rather would like to see checkpoints but I guess they have it wrong at that point. It's true, you can't die but that was also the case in the sands of time !? So why now, the bitching on this subject. It's Prince of Persia and this is how it is. Would you rather see the death traps from the first Prince of Persia. Were every move was a guess ? I thought not ! The game is good, not perfect but good ! And this time it's for more gamers to play with the prince. And if you don't like that, go and play Assassins Creed or any other hard to manage game. THE END !
