Review | Tinker
IGN doesn't have a preview nor review from the game. Gametrailers has no footage, nor has the game in the search results. So I guess the game passed along by those sites ! Thankfully not by me, even if it was very close on the edge of missing the game: Tinker ! It's a free game from Fuel Games and is published by Microsoft system: Games for Windows Live. Trough Marketplace you can 'buy' this game for free. And with many levels, over 60 levels and quite a lot of achievements...
The puzzles are quite interesting. And if you think about the fact that the tutorial is already 20 levels big. Then you can imagine that there are quite a lot of brain frustrating moments in it. The interface is quite interesting as well. You play a robot, but the robot is not simple drawed on a piece of 2d / 3d gameboard. But is really a funky / nice robot. It can hit switches and stuff like that. The levels take place on a high building of gears. Those gears are always turning during the game. And the obstacles are in the shape of dices, laser pistols and stuff like that. It's not the best game of 2009. But as a puzzle game it's really good.
We had on the PC: Trine / Braid and now this: Tinker. And if I must choose between those tree I would have to pick Tinker ! Altough Braid is better in the new features that it brought to the puzzle genre. And Trine does the caracter switching perfect balanced. Tinker is the game that is free, and where you will spend many hours on...
